Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) and Joint Implementation (JI) Project Development
Eco-Carbone's main activity is to identify, develop and implement greenhouse gas (GHGs) emission reduction projects under the flexible mechanisms of the Kyoto Protocol (CDM and JI). Eco-Carbone is specifically involved in all aspects of the project cycle, including:
- Project identification;
- CDM/JI project documentation (Project Identification Note – PIN; Project Design Document - PDD);
- Selection of project validator and verifier and active management of CDM/JI processing up to the project's approval and registration by the CDM Executive Board;
- Environmental and social assessment;
- Advice on technology selection and GHGs emission monitoring plan;
- Assistance in leveraging international finance for equipment purchase;
- Identification of carbon buyers, marketing of carbon credits, assistance during negotiation of Emission Reduction Purchasing Agreements (ERPA); and
- Management of emission reduction verification schedule throughout the project's lifetime.
Eco-Carbone is involved in a number of sectors, including coalmine methane emission reduction, reforestation for carbon sequestration, biofuels, and renewable energy. Eco-Carbone provides similar services for the development of voluntary carbon offset projects. Eco-Carbone's approach is flexible, and intervenes at any stage of the project cycle, depending on its client's needs.
Eco-Carbone helps identify the most suitable technologies and carbon buyers for your project,. Eco-Carbone is not tied to any particular equipment supplier or carbon purchaser. Eco-Carbone quickly evaluates a project's potential for GHGs emission reductions prior to project development, and assesses its eligibility for the Kyoto compliance or voluntary markets.
