Eco-Carbone expanded its activities to Vietnam (Binh Thuan and Quang Binh provinces) and Laos (Savannakhet province). In association with local entrepreneurs, Eco-Carbone created three joint venture companies that will develop jatropha and castor projects in the region.

The first CERs of the Zhengzhou and Yima projects have been certified and delivered successfully. On these projects, Eco-Carbone manages all the CDM procedures, from the project identification to the certification of carbon credits. This delivery underlines the expertise of Eco-Carbone on the complete CDM cycle.

Besides, this delivery of carbon credits certified under the CDM for the Zhengzhou project is a global first for the abatement of low concentration coalmine methane, through the Vocsidizer technology. Eco-Carbone has been actively involved in this transfer of ventilation methane abatement technology.

Eco-Carbone secures its first Emissions Reductions Purchase Agreement (ERPA) with the Nanmei mining group. Eco-Carbone thereby strengthens its position in the CDM sector, and is in addition responsible for all the CDM procedures on this project.

As part of its strategy, Eco-Carbone has raised € 3 million from its long-term shareholders. This financing will sustain the up-scaling of the jatropha projects, which are today in a fast expansion phase.

Creation of Eco-Emerald Pte Limited, a Joint Venture between Eco-Carbone France, majority shareholder, and Emerald Planet. Eco-Emerald will develop the Jatropha projects in the Indonesian province of Papua.

Mali Jatropha Project: the objective for plantation in 2007 has been achieved. As of September 2007, 300 ha of Jatropha plantations were established in Mali with the help of local partners. Onsite variety tests to select higher yielding seeds are ongoing.
